Make a financial contribution honoring 150 years of Jewish Community on Long Island
On November 23, 1874 ten Jewish immigrants from Germany gathered in the home of Herman Rosenstein in Breslau (today Lindenhurst) for the purpose of forming a congregation and electing officers. They adopted the name Neta Szarschea (meaning planting of thy seed) and two months later on January 19, 1875 the group was officially incorporated. It was the first congregation to be established on Long Island.
